Home-School Families Page

Families who home school the religious education of their children must register with the Religious Education office as a "Home School Family".  Print out the Home School Registration Form here.

We invite you to let us assist you with your Religious Education needs. Materials used to home school your children must be approved by the U.S.C.C.B. and contain the Imprimatur declaration and the Nihil Obstat declaration. You may purchase a student textbook from the Religious Education office to instruct your child from home.

The Diocese of Rockford has implemented the Christian Chastity and Safe Environment program as part of the religious education curriculum.  It is expected that home-school families will download the information and tech the age-appropriate lesson from home. To access the information, go to www.ceorockford.org and click on the Child Safety tab.

As part of the parish community, classroom attendance for the preparation of sacraments is highly encouraged. By diocesan policy, home school parents may prepare their children for the sacraments, again using materials approved by the U.S.C.C.B., and then meet with Father, who will interview the child and evaluate their readiness. (In addition to classroom attendance, preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation also includes service hours, a one day retreat, and celebration of the sacrament of Reconciliation.)
