Lighthouse Youth Ministry
The High School Youth Ministry is participating in a wonderful program titled Theology of the Body for Teens. It is based on John Paul the Great's Theology of the Body in which he taught what it truly means to be a "man" and a "woman". Teens are often thinking about their sexuality as they search for meaning in their lives. Teens are facing unique challenges in the culture today. These challenges, especially those concerning sexuality, self-esteem, peer pressure, and human and divine love, deserve more than the outdated "do this, don't do that" approach to catechesis. Today's challenges need to be addressed with a "new language" that explains how authentic Christianity makes sense because it corresponds perfectly with the deepest desires of the human heart. Theology of the Body is a profoundly beautiful vision of human sexuality. It is revolutionizing the way parents and educators teach morality and chastity to teens, as it provides the "whys" behind the "whats," paving the way to true freedom and happiness. For more information on the program, meeting dates and times, please contact Kim Albert at 683-0457 or Jan Olson at 683-7925.
Jr. High Youth Ministry
The Jr. High Youth Ministry has split from the High School Ministry to focus more on the things that affect 6-8th graders. We use games, videos, music, skits and witness talks to get our message across. We have small group and large group discussions.
As always, if you feel a calling to work with the amazing young people of our Parish
please contact Kim Alberth at 683-0457 or Fr. Nnaso at the Parish Office.
